Step by Step with Coretta Annual Stroll for Stroke
Empowering Recovery, One Step at a Time
Join Us as We Walk for Awareness
Join Us as We Walk for Awareness
Walking is more than mobility—it’s independence, activity, and participation. Yet, approximately half of stroke survivors face challenges in their ability to walk, from limited speed and endurance to decreased energy efficiency. While many regain some mobility, few return to their previous levels. At Step by Step with Coretta, we understand that walking is a high priority for survivors, and we aim to spotlight this crucial aspect of recovery during our annual Stroll for Stroke event.
Why Walking Matters
Walking is essential for performing daily tasks, building confidence, and fostering independence. Through targeted treatments, intensive practice, and the use of aids and equipment, survivors can safely improve their mobility and enjoy greater engagement in everyday activities. Innovative tools like treadmills, electro-mechanical gait trainers, activity monitors, and heart rate trackers play a vital role in enabling safe practice and promoting progress.
How You Can Help
By joining the Stroll for Stroke, you’ll support survivors as they work towards their mobility goals. The event raises awareness of the challenges stroke survivors face and highlights the importance of walking as a key recovery milestone. Together, we can champion resilience, offer encouragement, and celebrate the strength of the community.
